I find it hard to write [whatever] and have it be totally void of plot. I start [trying] that––because I like that as a concept––but it always seems to wiggle its way back into the 'world of plot' ... this story above, now ~1,500 words, has fallen prey. I will keep trying ... [trying]

Trump(et)

Petition to replace all door knobs with trumpets. The mouthpiece end would be on the outside along with the finger buttons. Visitors would have to play the right melody to gain entrance. The bell would be on the inside and if the people outside played it correctly the door would automatically open. Could increase home invasions but might make life more interesting?
